One thing I always look forward to is putting my name on the plaque we put up on the wall when we leave. There are momentos of every sort mounted in various places in the dorm: T-shirts, signs, sculpture, and plaques of every description. They cover just about every permanant flat surface, primarily the walls and ceiling. one of the more prominent is a toaster hanging upside down from the ceiling. The group that put it there went through the trouble of putting in a switch plate so that it could be plugged in. One group of college kids posted 8″x10″ pictures of their group opposite the showers in both the men’s and women’s bathroom with the slogan, “We See You Naked!” Cute kids, but the fact that the photographer’s shadow appears in the foreground sort of ruins the illusion.

Since we have been around as long and as often as any group and more than most, we have commandeered one wall next to the men’s bathroom, then started on another one on the other side of the room. You rack up a lot of plaques in twenty years. So we have moved a few pieces to make space, but we considerately put the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine next to the others the group had placed on the ceiling. (At least some of them. They have a bunch more a few feet away on another part of the ceiling.)
Although we have plenty of entries, ours are actually relatively small in size. Some of these things are enormous. Urbana High School has covered a huge part of the ceiling.

Give the kids their props. Each of those represent a different year, so they have been here at least ten years. They have already been here once this year and are making another trip in a couple weeks.
But I cannot show you the plaque from this year. Andy just got around to starting it today. He left a spot for all of us to sign it, then he is going to take it home, complete it, and send it down to JD to install on the wall.
We did get a very nice group picture though, in front of the first wall we took over.
